Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
PMEGP is a credit-linked subsidy programme that supports the establishment of micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector to create self-employment opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals aged 18 years and above
- Minimum 8th standard qualification (for higher-value projects)
- Eligible entities: Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Trusts, Registered societies, Cooperative societies
- Applicable only for new business ventures
- Existing units are not eligible
Benefits
- Subsidy support: 15% to 35% (based on category and location)
- Maximum project cost – Manufacturing sector: up to ₹25 lakh
- Maximum project cost – Service sector: up to ₹10 lakh
- Beneficiary contribution: 10% (General), 5% (Special category)

- Complete online registration and application form
- Upload required documents and submit application online
- Application is reviewed by district-level authorities
- Concerned bank gives final approval and sanctions the loan
