Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)The Design Clinic Scheme helps MSMEs improve their products and competitiveness through professional design support, design awareness and assistance for design projects.
Eligibility Criteria
- MSMEs seeking product design improvement and innovation
- Applicable primarily to manufacturing units
- Individual MSMEs
- Group MSMEs: Up to 3 MSMEs (small group), 4 or more MSMEs (large group)
- Eligible Participants & Co-applicants: Academic institutions, Design companies/consultants, Design students (only with MSME + academic institution)
- For Workshops/Seminars: Industry associations, Technical institutions, Other expert bodies
Benefits
- 60% financial assistance: Up to ₹9 lakh (individual / up to 3 MSMEs), Up to ₹15 lakh (4 or more MSMEs)
- 40% contribution by applicant (mandatory)
- Workshops & Seminars: ₹60,000 per seminar (Government support), 75% cost support for workshops (maximum ₹3 lakh)
- Supports: Product development, Design innovation
- Improves: Product quality, Market competitiveness
- Reduces: Waste, Operational inefficiencies, Production costs
- Improves: Quality standards, Overall performance
- Milestone-based payments: 5 installments (20% each)
- Ensures structured execution and monitoring
How to Apply
- Apply through: Design Clinic Portal or MSME offices / Design Clinic Centres
- Identify requirement: Design project or Workshop/seminar
- Prepare design proposal and project details
- Apply: Individually, or with consultants/academic institutions
- Submit application online or to Design Clinic Centre
- Proposal evaluation and approval
- Implementation after approval
