Coir Udyami Yojana (CUY)
Eligible coir enterprises can receive support under PMEGP, with the Coir Board helping identify and implement suitable coir projects under the scheme.
Eligibility Criteria
- Entrepreneurs engaged in the coir industry
- Eligible Applicants:
- Individuals, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), NGOs, Companies
- Institutions registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860
- Production Co-operative Societies
- Joint Liability Groups (JLGs), Charitable Trusts
- Key Condition: Must be setting up a new coir-based unit/project
Benefits
- Project Cost Structure:
- Maximum project cost: ₹10 lakh + working capital
- Working capital capped at 25% of project cost (not eligible for subsidy)
- Funding Pattern:
- 40% subsidy (credit-linked)
- 55% bank credit
- 5% beneficiary contribution
- Key Advantage: Subsidy is released through bank financing, reducing upfront burden
How to Apply
- Obtain application form from: Coir Board offices, District Industries Centres (DICs), Coir Project Offices, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Approved nodal agencies
- Submit application: Directly to Coir Board field offices, or through DICs
- Application is reviewed and processed by the implementing agency

- Project profile/report
- Proof of training (if applicable)
- Project & Asset Documents: Title deed/lease deed, Machinery invoice, Project plan and cost estimates
- Registration documents
- Personal identification documents
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
