Usually, we have to manually apply discounts every time while creating invoices.
But now, you can pre-set discounts directly in your items, just like you set tax percentages! Let’s see how you can do it step by step.

 Step 1: Open the Vyapar Desktop App
Open the Vyapar App on your desktop.
Make sure you’re logged in to your business account before proceeding.

 Step 2: Go to the Items Section
From the left-hand menu, click on Items.
You’ll now see a complete list of your products and services.

 Step 3: Choose or Add an Item
You can either:
Edit an existing item by double-clicking on it, or
Add a new item by clicking on the Add Item button.

For this tutorial, we’ll create a new item and fill in all its basic details, such as name, category, and selling price.

Step 4: Locate Discount Options
Scroll down to find two key settings: Discount Type and Discount on Sale Price
Under Discount Type, you’ll have two options: Percentage (%) and Amount (₹)
Select the format in which you want to apply discounts for this item.

Step 5: Enter Discount Value
After selecting the type, enter the desired discount value.
Example: Choose Percentage and set the value to 2%.
This means a 2% discount will automatically apply every time this item is added to an invoice.
Once done, click Save to apply the settings.

Step 6: Verify During Invoice Creation
Now, whenever you create a new invoice and add this item,
Vyapar will automatically apply the preset discount.
You no longer need to manually enter the discount each time — saving both time and effort!
